A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Butte-Meade Sanitary Water District was held at the District Office on August 13, 2024, at 8:00 a.m., led by the Pledge of Allegiance.  The meeting was called to order by the President of the Board, Bob Lewis at 8:00 a.m.

Unless otherwise noted, all Board action was by unanimous decision.

Members Present: Bob Lewis, Gary Velder, Penny Oedekoven, Judy Heisler, Richard Harmon, Mike Wolff, Todd Williamson and Dallas Conner.  

Motion by Judy Heisler, second by Gary Velder to adopt the agenda.  Motion carried.

The Minutes of the regular July 9, 2025, meeting was presented and approved on a motion by Judy Heisler, second by Richard Harmon.  Motion carried. 

The Treasurer’s Report and bills were approved on a motion by Richard Harmon, second Penny Oedekoven.  Motion carried.

Old Business:

• Well Update – Iron testing equipment has come in.  Flushed the new well for several days and tested the water regularly.  Iron was low, added the new well to the system on 8/4/25 as a supplement.  State does not require monthly samples until online permanently.  Will sample for our records.  

New Business:

• Insurance Renewal – Health insurance renewal in in August, rates will increase 11% for our group.  Motion by Penny Oedekoven, seconded by Judy Heisler to approve the renewal.  Motion carried.
• Wages for 2026 – Board was presented proposed wages for 2026.  A motion by Penny Oedekoven to approve the wages as follows, seconded by Judy Heisler.  Motion carried.
            District Manager – $47.00
            Assistant District Manager – $35.00
            Operator 3- $32.00
            Operator 4- $26.50
            Office Manager – $41.00
            Billing Clerk – $24.50
• 2026 Budget – Discussion was held on the proposed 2026 budget.  Motion by Penny Oedekoven, seconded by Richard Harmon to approve the proposed budget.  Motion carried.
• Western Dakota Regional Water System Annual Meeting is September 25, 2025 in Keystone, please let Dallas know if you are interested in going and she will get registration taken care of.  
• First reding of Ordinance No 1-2025 – An ordinance amending Butte-Meade Sanitary Water District Ordinance No 1-2024 – Water Rates. 
• Audit – Draft of the audit was sent to the office for review; Dallas Conner found a few things for Ben Elliot to fix.  The final draft will be sent to the state for approval.

Office Manager Report:

• Butte-Meade Water will have an entry in the Labor Day Parade.  
• Started painting the back room.

Manager Report:

• Viken Rd – Work has started on the Viken Road project.  Verl & Todd are working on it as they have time.
• Fixed a few leaks this past month. One was a curb stop by Fruitdale that was run over and the other was a hole in the pipe caused by rock.
• Bullett hole in the Simmons Tank rusted through.  Mike, Todd & Verl fixed the issue.
