Butte-Meade Sanitary Water District

A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Butte-Meade Sanitary Water District was held at the District Office on December 10, 2025, at 8:00 a.m., led by the Pledge of Allegiance.  The meeting was called to order by the President of the Board, Bob Lewis at 8:00 a.m.

Unless otherwise noted, all Board action was by unanimous decision.

Members Present: Bob Lewis, Penny Oedekoven, Richard Harmon, Judy Heisler, Gary Velder, Todd Williamson and Dallas Conner.  

Motion by Gary Velder, second by Judy Heisler to adopt the agenda.  Motion carried.

The Minutes of the regular November 12, 2025, meeting was presented and approved on a motion by Richard Harmon, second by Penny Oedekoven.  Motion carried. 

The Treasurer’s Report and bills were approved on a motion by Penny Oedekoven, second Gary Velder.  Motion carried.

Old Business:

• Well Update – McCoy Well has been winterized.
• Employee Handbook – Motion by Bob Lewis, second by Judy Heisler to adopt the changes to the employee handbook.  Motion carried.

New Business:

• Credit Card – Motion by Penny Oedekoven, second by Richard Harmon to get a credit card for Todd Williamson.  Motion carried.
• Tap Fee – Motion by Penny Oedekoven, seconded by Gary Velder to raise the tap fee to $4,000. Motion carried.
• Customer letter – Todd Williamson & Dallas Conner would like to send a letter to all customers with the current rate & Fee schedule.  Todd & Dallas will work on updating the fee schedule.
• Christmas Bonus – Motion by Penny Oedekoven, seconded by Judy Heisler to approve a $250.00 Christmas bonus for all full-time employees.  Motion carried.
• First reading of Ordinance No 2-2025 – Resale water rates.

Office Manager Report:

• Christmas Party is scheduled for 19 at the NVN Center.
• Vale Ag Day is January 7 from 10-2.
• ADA Compliance has been added to the website by our provider.

Manager Report:

• Viken Road is complete, there is some dirt work that will need to be finished up in the spring.
• 5 major & 2 minor breaks this past month.
• Mike is currently picking up the pump in Dickinson for Vale.
• Fiber was installed to the Vale Well House, should have the new Scada system in early January.
• All water samples for 2025 are done.
• Vale is switching from Poly Phosphate to Ortho Poly Phosphate.
• Verl Tifft & Todd Williamson took a water distribution class in Rapid.
• Power outage on the 13th affected the office & Vale Well.  Transferred water from the Bean side for approximately 10 hours.

Motion by Judy Heisler, seconded by Richard Harmon, the meeting was adjourned at 9:10 am.
