May 14, 2025

A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Butte-Meade Sanitary Water District was held at the District Office on May 14, 2024, at 8:00 a.m., led by the Pledge of Allegiance.  The meeting was called to order by the President of the Board, Bob Lewis at 8:00 a.m.

Unless otherwise noted, all Board action was by unanimous decision.

Members Present: Bob Lewis, Gary Velder, Penny Oedekoven, Judy Heisler, Richard Harmon, Mike Wolff and Dallas Conner.  

Motion by Judy Heisler, second by Penny Oedekoven to adopt the agenda.  Motion carried.

The Minutes of the regular April 9, 2025, meeting was presented and approved on a motion by Penny Oedekoven, second by Richard Harmon.  Motion carried. 

The Treasurer’s Report and bills were approved on a motion by Judy Heisler, second Penny Oedekoven.  Motion carried.

Old Business:

  • Tank bid – Motion by Penny Oedekoven, second by Gary Velder to reject all bids for the concrete tank.  All bids came in significantly over budget.  Motion carried.

Motion by Penny Oedekoven, second by Richard Harmon to open bids for a Stainless-Steel Tank as outlined by FMG. Motion carried.

New Business:

  • AC – Motion by Judy Heisler, second by Penny Oedekoven to accept the bid from Wolff’s Plumbing for a new AC system for the Vale well house.  Motion carried.
  • Water Rates – Water rates were discussed.  Dallas will prepare rate forecasting for suggestions discussed and present at the next meeting.
  • Succession Planning – The need to hire another operator was discussed.  The board agreed to allow Mike & Todd to hire another operator.


Office Manager Report:

  • New gutters are installed
  • The Audit has been started, Ben hopes to have it completed by the next meeting.


Manager Report:

  • Leak in Vale System, haven’t had a chance to look as the operators have been busy with other leaks.
  • Leak in Simmons are, drained tank before it was discovered.  Found it and fixed on Sunday.
  • Mike suggested running a 3” line from the McCoy well to the Simmons Tank to help ease the strain on the Bean Well.  Matt Mangis will get this done soon.
  • Nisland Well went down, they are currently on our system.

Motion by Penny Oedekoven, second Judy Heisler, the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 am.
