July 10, 2024

A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Butte-Meade Sanitary Water District was held at the District Office on July 10, 2024, at 8:00 a.m., led by the Pledge of Allegiance.  The meeting was called to order by the President of the Board, Bob Lewis at 8:00 a.m.

Unless otherwise noted, all Board action was by unanimous decision.

Members Present: Bob Lewis, Gary Velder, Penny Oedekoven, Judy Heisler, Richard Harmon, Mike Wolff, Dallas Conner and Todd Williamson.  

Motion by Richard Harmon, second by Gary Velder to adopt the agenda.  Motion carried.

The Minutes of the regular June 10, 2024, meeting was presented and approved on a motion by Judy Heisler, second by Richard Harmon.  Motion carried. 

The Treasurer’s Report and bills were approved on a motion by Penny Oedekoven, second Gary Velder.  Motion carried.

Old Business:

  • Well Update – 1400’ of surface casing is in and they are actively drilling.

New Business:

 

  • Dwight Gubbrud – Dwight met with the board and discussed the bid bond from MJ Drilling.  He will keep the board updated as he knows more. 
  • Highway 212 & 79 Reroute – Mike Wolff updated the board on the project.  Motion to advertise to bid when the plans are completed was made by Judy Heisler, seconded by Richard Harmon. Motion carried.
  • Office Vacancy – Debra Steele has been hired to fill the billing clerk position.  She started at the end of June and was able to sit in on some of the month-end procedures.

 

Office Manager Report:

  • John Nadig will start the landscaping next week.  Todd Williamson will contact Dave Baumiller about getting a flagpole to add to the area between buildings.
  • Town of Newell has hired a finance officer, she will start soon.  Dallas and CharLee will not be needed with the Town much longer.

 

Manager Report:

  • Motor in one of the pickups went out, Mike had it replaced.  The new motor has a 3-year warranty.
  • Tie in with Bear Butte Water is completed and has been used.
  • There was a major leak on Olson Cut Off Road that was fixed.
  • Progress meeting July 10 at 1:00 with engineer and driller.
  • 3 taps to complete in the next few weeks.



Motion by Penny Oedekoven, second Judy Heisler, the meeting was adjourned at 8:55 am.
