October 9, 2024

A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Butte-Meade Sanitary Water District was held at the District Office on October 9, 2024, at 8:00 a.m., led by the Pledge of Allegiance.  The meeting was called to order by the President of the Board, Bob Lewis at 8:00 a.m.

Unless otherwise noted, all Board action was by unanimous decision.

Members Present: Bob Lewis, Gary Velder, Penny Oedekoven, Judy Heisler, Richard Harmon, Mike Wolff, Dallas Conner, Todd Williamson and Jason Pettyjohn.  

Motion by Penny Oedekoven, second by Judy Heisler to adopt the agenda.  Motion carried.

The Minutes of the regular September 11, 2024, meeting was presented and approved on a motion by Judy Heisler, second by Richard Harmon.  Motion carried. 

The Treasurer’s Report and bills were approved on a motion by Judy Heisler, second Gary Velder.  Motion carried.

Old Business:

  • Well Update – Electricity is being run to the well and a well head cover will be purchased soon.  Water System Drilling will acid the well soon.

 

New Business:

  • Executive Session – Motion by Penny Oedekoven, second by Richard Harmon to enter executive session.  Motion passed.  Motion by Penny Oedekoven, second by Judy Heisler to leave executive session.  Motion passed  
  • Harvest Fest – Newell & Vale – Dallas will go to Vale & Deb & Todd will be in Newell for the Harvest Fest.
  • Festival of Trees – Dallas presented an idea for Festival of Trees, the board agreed with the idea.  Dallas will move forward with preparing for the Festival of Trees.
  • Board Leadership Seminar – Richard will be attending the event.  Dallas will register Richard and reserve a room.

 

Office Manager Report:

  • Office Training was held in Deadwood, Dallas & Deb both attended.  Some of the topics covered were billing systems, new meters being used by systems within SDARWS, lead service line inventory and Rural Water Impact.  It was a good training and it was nice that is was close.
  • The online payment system is up and running.  Customers are starting to register and pay.  

 

Manager Report:

  • Several new taps and a basement removal on the schedule for this month.
  • Fixed a few leaks.
  • Skid steer and Ford both needed repairs, Mike has been working on those.
  • Excavator has a leak on the hydraulic cylinder, that is being fixed.
  • Junction valves will be installed soon.
  • Water samples are done and all were clean.

 

Motion by Judy Heisler, second Richard Harmon, the meeting was adjourned at 9:05 am.
