Butte-Meade Sanitary Water District

A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Butte-Meade Sanitary Water District was held at the District Office on July 8, 2026, at 8:00 a.m., led by the Pledge of Allegiance.  The meeting was called to order by the President of the Board, Bob Lewis at 8:00 a.m.

Unless otherwise noted, all Board action was by unanimous decision.

Members Present: Bob Lewis, Penny Oedekoven, Richard Harmon, Gary Velder, Judy Heisler, Mike Wolff and Dallas Conner.  

Motion by Penny Oedekoven, second by Judy Heisler to adopt the agenda.  Motion carried.

The Minutes of the regular June 10, 2026, meeting was presented and approved on a motion by Judy Heisler, second by Richard Harmon.  Motion carried. 

The Treasurer’s Report and bills were approved on a motion by Gary Velder, second Penny Oedekoven.  Motion carried.

Old Business:

• Well Update – Filled the McCoy Tank, there is some seepage that RCS will address.
• Pump house and pipeline bid –There was an issue with the bid paperwork and the project will have to be rebid.  Jason is working with DANR and engineers and will let us know when this can be done.

New Business:

• Health Insurance Renewal-Motion by Judy Heisler to accept the 2027 health insurance from Blue Cross/Blue Shield, seconded by Richard Harmon.  Motion carried.

Office Manager Report:

• A Facebook page was started to keep customers informed of issues and other company happenings.
• Working on scheduling a retirement party for Mike.

Manager Report:

• Fixed a few leaks the first week of July.
• Turned on water from Bear Butte Water to keep up with demand.
• Have some taps to install this month.
• Working on AC at bean well.

Motion by Penny Oedekoven, seconded by Judy Heisler, the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 am.
