Butte-Meade Sanitary Water District

A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Butte-Meade Sanitary Water District was held at the District Office on August 12, 2026, at 8:00 a.m., led by the Pledge of Allegiance.  The meeting was called to order by the President of the Board, Bob Lewis at 8:00 a.m.

Unless otherwise noted, all Board action was by unanimous decision.

Members Present: Bob Lewis, Penny Oedekoven, Richard Harmon, Gary Velder, Judy Heisler, Mike Wolff, Todd Williamson and Dallas Conner.  

Motion by Judy Heisler, second by Richard Harmon to adopt the agenda.  Motion carried.

The Minutes of the regular July 8, 2026, meeting was presented and approved on a motion by Richard Harmon, second by Penny Oedekoven.  Motion carried. 

The Treasurer’s Report and bills were approved on a motion by Judy Heisler, second Penny Oedekoven.  Motion carried.

Old Business:

• Well Update – Jason Pettyjohn has contacted RCS & the tank manufacture to address the tank seepage.

New Business:

• Wester Dakota Regional Water System – Annual meeting is October 21 in Deadwood.  Please let Dallas know so she can get you registered.
• Advertise to bid Well House – Motion by Richard Harmon to advertise to bid project upon approval by DANR, second by Judy Heisler.  Motion carried.
• 2027 Budget – Discussion was held on wages and 2027 budget; final wages & budget will be presented at next meeting. 

Office Manager Report:

• BMSWD will be in the Labor Day parade.  
• Retirement party for Mike Wolff will be held on September 25 from 2-5 pm at the office.

Manager Report:

• 5 main breaks in July.  
• Chlorinator at the Vale Well went out, a new one was picked up & installed.
• More new taps to install this year.

Motion by Penny Oedekoven, seconded by Richard Harmon, the meeting was adjourned at 8:50 am
