Butte-Meade Sanitary Water District

A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Butte-Meade Sanitary Water District was held at the District Office on September 15, 2026, at 8:00 a.m., led by the Pledge of Allegiance.  The meeting was called to order by the President of the Board, Bob Lewis at 8:00 a.m.

Unless otherwise noted, all Board action was by unanimous decision.

Members Present: Bob Lewis, Penny Oedekoven, Richard Harmon, Gary Velder, Judy Heisler, Mike Wolff, Todd Williamson and Dallas Conner.  

Motion by Gary Velder, second by Judy Heisler to adopt the agenda.  Motion carried.

The Minutes of the regular August 12, 2026, meeting was presented and approved on a motion by Judy Heisler, second by Penny Oedekoven.  Motion carried. 

The Treasurer’s Report and bills were approved on a motion by Penny Oedekoven, second Richard Harmon.  Motion carried.

Old Business:

• Well Update – Seepage on tank has been discussed with Jason Pettyjohn, FMG & RCS.  The tank will be drained, and a spray liner will be used on the floor.  Plans for the well-building and pipeline are submitted to DANR.  Once approved, it will be put out for bid.
• 2027 Budget – 2027 Budget presented to the board.  Todd Williamson would like to put aside $100,000 for line replacement.  Motion by Penny Oedekoven, second by Richard Harmon.  Motion carried.

New Business:

• District Manager Wage – Motion by Penny Oedekoven, seconded by Judy Heisler to raise Todd Williamson wage to $47.00/hour effective October 1.  Motion carried.
• Signature Card – Motion by Judy Heisler, seconded by Richard Harmon to remove Mike Wolff & add Todd Williamson to the signature card.  Motion carried.
• 2027 Wages – Board was presented proposed wages for 2027.  A motion by Judy Heisler to approve the wages as follows, seconded by Gary Velder.  Motion carried.
            District Manager – $47.00
            Operator 2- $32.00
            Operator 3- $32.00
            Office Manager – $43.00
            Billing Clerk – $26.50
• Operator – With Mike retiring the board raised the question of hiring another operator.  Motion by Penny Oedekoven, seconded by Richard Harmon to advertise for an operator.  Motion carried.
• Harvest Festival/Trunk or Treat/Festival of Trees – Dallas would like permission to participate in these events again this year, the board agreed.   

Office Manager Report:

• BMSWD participated in the Labor Day Parade.  It was a great crowd.  We had several positive compliments on participating in community events.
• Mike’s Retirement party will be held September 25 from 2-5 at the office.  All are invited to attend.

Manager Report:

• Several leaks have been fixed in the past month.
• 3 new taps installed.
• Cooler weather has helped with consumption & the wells have been able to keep up with demand.

Motion by Judy Heisler, seconded by Richard Harmon, the meeting was adjourned at 9:05 am.
