A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Butte-Meade Sanitary Water District was held at the District Office on May 10, 2023, at 8:00 a.m., led by the Pledge of Allegiance.  The meeting was called to order by the President of the Board, Bob Lewis at 8:00 a.m.

Unless otherwise noted, all Board action was by unanimous decision.

Members Present: Bob Lewis, Gary Velder, Penny Oedekoven, Judy Heisler, Richard Harmon, Mike Wolff, and Dallas Conner.  

Motion by Gary Velder, second Judy Heisler to adopt the agenda, motion carried.

The Minutes of the regular April 19, 2023, meeting was read and approved on a motion by Judy Heisler and second by Bob Lewis.  Motion carried. 

The Treasurer’s Report and bills were approved on a motion by Gary Velder, second Richard Harmon.  Motion carried.

New Business:

• First reding of Ordinance No 1-2023 – An ordinance amending Butte-Meade Sanitary Water District Ordinance No 1-2022 – Water Rates. 
• Wage adjustment – Motion by Judy Heisler, seconded by Gary Velder to approve a wage increase for CharLee Bachman to $20.00/hour after her 90 day review as the Billing Clerk.  Motion carried.
• Banking updates – Motion by Penny Oedekoven, seconded by Gary Velder to remove Kim Marzolff from the safe deposit card and add CharLee Bachman as a signer and to the safe deposit box.  Motion carried.
• C/D update – Motion by Bob Lewis, seconded by Gary Velder to transfer $130,000 from the savings account to the Certificate the will mature on 5/27/23.  Motion carried.

Office Manager Report:

• Blackburn Basement is coming on May 24th to look over the crawlspace and settling issues. 
• Now that the new server has been installed, Dallas would like to look into purchasing a smart TV for the conference room for staff meetings and webinars.  Dallas will update later with more information.

Manager Report:

• Lead service line work needs to be done by October 24, 2024.  The district will have to submit paperwork for all lines we supply water to.
• Sensus support installed the software on the new computer and phones.  Mike & Dallas will send info to them to do a study on upgrading to system to a tower read.
• Mike & Dallas with meet with Metron-Farnier to discuss cell tower read systems.  This will be a good comparison to the tower read system.  
• Mike, Todd & Donnie will be draining the Vale tank today to look for leaks in the tank.
• Reports for the land purchase are ready for signatures and then will go before the county for final approval.
