A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Butte-Meade Sanitary Water District was held at the District Office on June 11, 2024, at 8:00 a.m., led by the Pledge of Allegiance.  The meeting was called to order by the President of the Board, Bob Lewis at 8:00 a.m.

Unless otherwise noted, all Board action was by unanimous decision.

Members Present: Bob Lewis, Gary Velder, Penny Oedekoven, Judy Heisler, Richard Harmon, Mike Wolff, Todd Williamson and Dallas Conner.  

Motion by Penny Oedekoven, second by Judy Heisler to adopt the agenda.  Motion carried.

The Minutes of the regular May 14, 2025, meeting was presented and approved on a motion by Penny Oedekoven, second by Gary Velder.  Motion carried. 

The Treasurer’s Report and bills were approved on a motion by Judy Heisler, second Gary Velder.  Motion carried.

Old Business:

• Tank bid – Bid opening will be June 24 at 2:00 pm at the BMSWD office.
• Water rates- Water rates were discussed.  Dallas Conner will put together options to go over at the July meeting.

New Business:

• New hire – Motion by Penny Oedekoven, second by Judy Heisler to approve Verl Tifft as a new operator.  Starting wage of $25.00/hour.  Motion passed.

Office Manager Report:

• Ben is working on the audit; it should be done this month.
• Court is scheduled for June 17 at 8:45 in Belle Fourche.
• Dallas will talk with Josh at West River Telephone about phone & answering machine options.

Manager Report:

• Installed a few new taps the past month.
• Fixed a curb stop & line.
• Working on temp line to Simmons tank to fill from McCoy Well.  BacT came back fine, we will just need to disinfect the new line & pass 2 water tests and we will be able to start using the water to fill the tank.
